Sweat Lodge May 16th

We will be holding our first Sweat Lodge on Sunday May 16^th.
We will be meeting at the house about 9am to start the fire. Everyone is urged
to bring a rock with them with your prayers and wishes in it. When the rock is
heated and brought into the lodge your prayers will be released to Great Spirit.

If you wish to be a part of the ceremony but do not feel
called to go into the sweat, there are many other things you can help with. We
need fire tenders, door keepers, and folks to help with the food in the house.
Just your presence and prayers help those in the lodge.

There will be a feast to follow the sweat so everyone is
encouraged to bring a dish to share. Women wear a skirt and shirt, if you don’t
have one we have some to loan. Men wear shorts. No jewelry is to be worn in the
lodge. Bring 2 towels, one to sit on and one to wipe off with. It is
appropriate to bring tobacco or sage for the lodge keeper, money is acceptable
also if that is what you wish to give. There must be an exchange of energy but
it must be something you are comfortable giving. Wood for the fires is also
graciously accepted.Swe
