Big Changes!

Chapel services will commence on Sunday January 15,2012. They will be held at the house on the hill, not the chapel building in Middleburgh. The address is 554 Gates Hill Road it is 2.5 miles up from rt 145 (white house, purple door on the left side at the sharp turn) Please go around to the back deck to enter. 518-827-6123 There will be a feast to follow. We will drum, sing, dance, pray and give thanks.

If you know of anyone, preferably a nonprofit organization that would like to purchase the chapel building please let us know. It was not touched by the flood; we just feel a calling to bring everything up to the sacred mountain.

We will be changing the name slightly to encompass more things. We will now be known as the Native American Spiritualist Community Center. EVERYONE is welcome, you do not need to be Native American. There will be many good changes in 2012, please plan to be a part of them!

Fundraiser for Schoharie Flood Victims

Saturday 10/1 at the Altamont Apple Orchard.

This is in conjunction with the Guilderland Chamber. Admission is free. There will be an “Old Car” contest as well as a “soup” contest among other things. There will be news coverage also.

Both Bob and I have to attend a preparation
rehearsal for a wedding we are doing on Sunday. There will be no
services in the chapel on Sunday 2/13 or Sunday 2/20. We are sorry for
the inconvenience. We should also have the pipe repaired so we will have
water by then. Even with the heat on and the water off, the cold did
wreck a pipe.

Please pray that we can
fix it with the help of friends and that it won’t cost much! And PLEASE
pray for somewhat warmer weather!!!

No Seance for January; Seeking Heating Repair

There will NOT be a message circle/séance this Friday!

Sorry for the late notice……the chapel has NO heat (not that it had much to begin with J
) Our furnace stopped working and we are trying to find someone to fix
it. We were greeted with ice in the sinks and the toilet; luckily none
of the pipes froze as the main was heat taped.

If
you are or know of a heating repair person please contact us! We need
to get back “in business” as soon as possible; spirits are waiting to
contact us!

Send
us your prayers and if you would like to send a donation to the chapel
to help with this dilemma it would be appreciated more than you know.

Sweat Lodge Sunday 8/15

Sweat Lodge Healing Ceremony conducted by Rev. Bob Medicine Wing
Meunier.

The fire will be started at 10 am with the sweat to begin about
noon.

This is an open sweat for the purpose of bringing healing
into our lives, our family, and ourselves.

You do not have to be in the
sweat lodge to participate, there are many other things to do to
support those that are in the sweat.

Please bring a stone that is no larger than your head and please no
shale as this will explode in the fire!

Women wear long skirts or dresses of lightweight material (we have some
available here) and men wear shorts or swim trunks. Bring a towel or
small pad or blanket to sit on and another towel to dry off with. Be
sure you have dry clothing to change into.

Tobacco, fire wood, blankets to cover the lodge or a money donation are
all acceptable donations to the lodge keeper. Gifts do not have to be
large but an exchange of energy needs to take place.

After the ceremony there is a pot luck dinner so please bring something
to share with everyone.

You may bring rattles and drums for the ceremony.

Please refrain from alcohol, smoking and drugs for at least 24 hours
before the ceremony. There are NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL ALLOWED AT THE LODGE
SITE!

You may, of course, bring tobacco prayer ties to be hung in the lodge
during ceremony, the amount and colors are personal to you.

Wear shoes that can easily be removed as there are no
shoes,jewelry,hair pieces etc worn into the lodge.

If you wish to bring something as a giveaway after the ceremony, please
feel free to do so.

Sweat Lodge May 16th

We will be holding our first Sweat Lodge on Sunday May 16^th.
We will be meeting at the house about 9am to start the fire. Everyone is urged
to bring a rock with them with your prayers and wishes in it. When the rock is
heated and brought into the lodge your prayers will be released to Great Spirit.

If you wish to be a part of the ceremony but do not feel
called to go into the sweat, there are many other things you can help with. We
need fire tenders, door keepers, and folks to help with the food in the house.
Just your presence and prayers help those in the lodge.

There will be a feast to follow the sweat so everyone is
encouraged to bring a dish to share. Women wear a skirt and shirt, if you don’t
have one we have some to loan. Men wear shorts. No jewelry is to be worn in the
lodge. Bring 2 towels, one to sit on and one to wipe off with. It is
appropriate to bring tobacco or sage for the lodge keeper, money is acceptable
also if that is what you wish to give. There must be an exchange of energy but
it must be something you are comfortable giving. Wood for the fires is also
graciously accepted.Swe

Sweat Lodge May 16/17

We will be holding a Sweat Lodge building /ceremony this weekend May 16^th and 17^th . It will be our honor to have Moon Bear and Grey Wolf facilitate the experience. We have been waiting many years for the teachers to be sent to Spirit-Path. If you are interested in Native ways and becoming a part of the Lodge Family, please come this weekend. If you are unable to “build” there is plenty of other things for you to be a part of. Age, physical impairments, etc.are NOT a factor. This lodge will be built so EVERYONE will be able to experience its healing benefits. If you have any questions, please call me at 518-827-6123. Below is a list of thing you can bring if you have them. I will provide food if you cannot bring a dish to share (any thing is acceptable and is customary). Hello Peggi,

Below are items for people to bring on Lodge day. I am also including a list of things people can bring on Lodge building day if they happen to have them. Please take a look and let me know about anything you may want clarified, and please share with the people. Look forward to ceremonies.

Things to bring on Lodge building day (if available only):

work gloves
hatchet
axe
hand saw
clippers
machete
tobacco
bug spray
duct tape
food/water for you to have

Lodge

The things You need to bring when you come to Lodge:

1. two towels
2. something for Pot Luck
3. a blanket or something to sit on
4. a long skirt for the ladies with a light t shirt; shorts for the men
5. a set of dry clothes for after Lodge
6. a stone about the size of a football, more if possible
7. some wood for the fire, just a few pieces if you can
8. you may also want to bring a drum or rattle to play and one other sacred object that can go on a small altar while we are in Lodge
9. gifts/donations (if you cannot afford gifts/donations and still need to come then you will not be turned away)

Lodges are sacred ceremonies, so when you come you will be asked to stay in the area until the ceremony is complete – this sometimes takes until 10pm or, on rare occasions, later.

Everyone is welcome, and if you bring children remember they are your responsibility.

When you come to the lodge site you will need to greet the lodge keepers first and offer them a gift and tobacco for the use of the land.

Next, greet the person who is pouring water and offer them tobacco and a cash gift (sit with Spirit to see how much). If you are going to ask for help in healing or prayers to be made for you or another, you should ask the pourer with your offering if you may talk to them, and follow his instructions.

It is always good to find out who is keeping fire that day and offer them tobacco and a gift also. Your exchange of energy honors their hard work for the people.

Always try to remember that the Worship is in the Work. You only get out of ceremony what you put into it, so come as close to noon as you can.

After the Lodge & Pipe we wait to eat or drink until the children, the pourer, the firekeeper, the elders, and the lodge keepers are served their food and drink. At some Lodges, a spirit plate will also be made and offered to the fire.

Please join us as we start up our Development Circles on Thursday evenings at 6 to 7pm. This is a FREE event and is intended for those folks who have sat in circles before and have completed at least the first level of Psychic Development classes. These circles are unstructured and open for suggestions. We can work on message giving and receiving, psychometry, automatic writing, trance, etc.

    Halloween Night! Join us at the chapel, corner of Wells and Main in the village of Middleburgh for tricks and treats! Candy for the kids, and coffee and donuts for those adults tired out from following their little ghosts and witches around all night!

November

    11/5/06: Healings available at 3:30, Church service at 4, and sèance/message circle following the fellowship.

    11/19/06: our very special Thanksgiving Service begins at 4 PM with a lovely dinner to follow. (No healing service or sèance that night.) Bring a dish to share, and don't forget your appetite! Everyone welcome, feel free to bring a guest!

December

    12/3/06: Healing at 3:30, and Church services at 4, with a sèance to follow coffee and fellowship time.

    12/13/06: Join us for our Christmas Tree decorating party, goodies served afterward, and an evening of caroling on the front steps of the Community Spiritualist Chapel. Festivities start around 6PM.

   12/17/06: Christmas Candlelight Service at the Community Spiritualist Chapel. The service begins at 4pm (no healing service or sèance that night.) The service will include beautiful carols and our members sharing on "What Christmas Means to Me". It's a magical time, and we hope you all can join us!

    Christmas Eve: Revs. Bob and Peggi will be at the Gates Hill Church for their annual Christmas Eve celebration, and there will be an open house to follow. Please email us at spirit@spirit-path.com for more information.

Community Spiritualist Chapel Announcements

March 30th, this Thursday evening, starting 7PM, there is a CSC Board meeting and supper at the chapel, Main and Wells, Middleburgh. All board members, church members, and those who are interested in the running of the church and center are welcome, bring your appetite and inspiration!

April 8th, Saturday evening, Seance at 7:30. Feel free to bring a guest! $8 per person. Please note the change in day for the seance (Saturday rather than Sunday).

April 9th, Palm Sunday, Church Service at 6PM preceded by a healing hour at 5. (No seance this day, due to the circle the evening before) All welcome!

Easter Sunday, April 16th, at 11 AM. Our Easter Service, followed by brunch at the Middleburgh Diner who all who wish to join us. (There will be no seance on Easter Sunday.)

April 23rd, Sunday evening, a special service for the Blessing of the Hands, begins at 6 PM. Everyone will receive a "water blessing" of the hands, thanking them for all they do, and a medallion. Bring your friends, all are welcome!

April 27th, Thursday, 7PM: Psychic Development I classes begin. Please email Rev. Peggi (peggi@spirit-path.com) or call 827-6123 for cost and registration details.

Come along, bring goodies, an ornament if you wish, and your singing voice, for if we're brave enough we may try carrolling on the front steps again this year. There will be gifts and a buffet (call 827-6123 if you would like to contribute and are not sure what is needed, or if you have any other questions or need directions). We had a great time last year -- you can still see our slideshow of last year's party on the website at www.spirit-path.com if you'd like to relive the fun!

On Sunday, December 4th, Rev Ginger Tomiselli will be our guest speaker at the Community Spiritualist Chapel church service. The service begins at 6, followed by fellowship time and a seance beginning at 7:30. As usual, the seance charge will be $8 per person.

Don't forget! We're adding "every other Friday" seance events to our schedule, and the next Friday seance will be held on September 30th at 7 o'clock in the evening. We had a small but fun group for our first Friday event, and we hope to see more of you at the next one.

Halloween? Already? Sure, why not plan ahead!

On Saturday, the 29th of October, we will be having our Halloween Seance! The doors will open at 6:30 with Halloween goodies and a get-together. Bring a treat to share! At 7:30 we'll start our seance, hoping for wonderful fellowship with our loved ones and spirit guides during this time of year when the veil is thin. The church will be decorated for the occasion, and we'll be leaving the decorations up for the Trick or Treaters on Halloween Night, of course! And a special treat -- anyone who comes to the Halloween Seance in costume gets $2 off the usual $8 price!

All Seances are $8 per person and everyone is welcome to join us.

will be a standalone seance, and all are welcome, as always.
On Sept 25th, we will have our next church service and seance/message
